Brian Cartwright's 5-point night frustrates Ranch: Slayers 7 Ranch 3

A fiesty game between the Slayers and Ranch ended with a 7-3 win for the Slayers. The Slayers played their style of game, frustrating the Ranch most of the night. Lots of action on both sides of the ice in a physical game. The first period was full of great saves from both Dale and El Rancho's goalie, Eric Parker. Persistant play and solid goaltending from Dale made this an easy game for the Slayers. Brian nearly having a Gordy Howe hat trick, set the tone of the game with a 5 point night. The 3rd period was a penalty fest for both teams. Like most games between the Ranch and Slayers, it was enteraining for sure.

Game Notes:
Goal 1) Brian, Assist Cory
Goal 2) Brian, Assist Will
Goal 3) Kevin, Assist Brian
Goal 4) Scott ?, (GW) ?
Goal 5) Scott (shorty), Unassisted
Goal 6) Cory, Assist Brian
Goal 7) Cory (shorty), Brian

Goalies: Slayers-Dale, Ranch-Eric
Slayers Record 3-2

Slayers were pleased to have Mike Davis back on the ice after missing 5 weeks due to a knee injury.
The 3rd goal scored by the Ranch late in the 3rd did count, however after the game was over it was pointed out to the refs that the net was indeed off its moorings allowing the puck to slip under the goal, rather than going in.

Nice work Slayers. Any goalie would be happy to see his boys put 7 in the back of the net. Keep it up.

Well all is good with Justin and Cartwright. The two made peace with some shots at the Ranch the other night. It's just a game!!

What do you mean "made peace"? Was there some trouble in Slayerland or something? Not enough beers to go around? ;-)

Tonight, the DAWGS are gonna take it to the the SLUMPING SLAYERS. Mackay is fresh off his hat trick last night (and has been working on his Christmas Card list with the Rancho rowdies).

Hah - I think JimmieBoy missed the net in the waning seconds which would have made the game respectable. I admit, the D-core gave out a collective "Ah, Shit" to turn around and see him alone behind us. Too bad the net isn't 15 feet wide and 8 foot high. He would have buried it in the upper corner.

Slumping eh? Slayers lost 5-2 to the Cheap on March 11th . Since then has gone 5 and 0 with 24 goals for and 10 against. Not bad for slumping. Jimmy do like apples?..................
